Leap Year Day

February 29, 2016

This week was "March Break" for Samuel's school. David took a day off from Montessori and the boys came over to spend the day on Monday, February 29. We started building a lego castle downstairs, then David wanted to play with Grant's train and have some toast.

Our friend, John, invited the boys to visit his new Cockapoo dog, Shadow, and soon we were sliding down icy snow banks on our way over to his place.

We spotted Shadow on John's step - just waiting for us. We had a fun, slippery walk around the block with Shadow following the boys up the icy snow banks. Samuel selected a piece of ice for him.

We drove over to Tim Horton's to cash in Grandpa's "Roll up the rim" treat. The boys chose chocolate doughnuts. We all had a drink and rolled up our rims - we just got "Please play again" messages on our cups but had fun trying. Back at home, Grant gave the boys a good trip around the house on a sled.

After our busy morning, David settled down for a nap. Grandpa and Sam went to the dog park with John, Shadow and a German Shepherd dog friend, Abby. The people and the dogs had fun together.

When he got back to the house, Sam settled in for a story and some popcorn. David loves popcorn so was happy to dig into a bag of it when he got up.
