Ottawa Wins the Grey Cup After 40 Years

November 27, 2016

Today was Grey Cup Day, Ottawa Redblacks (underdogs) vs  Calgary Stampeders, in Toronto. The Chelsea boys came over to 9 Lambert with their parents to see the big game. David had a little nap in the car while Sam and the adults threw some footballs around outside. Boots enjoyed being outside too. Soon it got dark, so time for everyone to go in.

Grant and Sam got busy making a football player brownie cake wearing their red and black shirts.

Then everyone, including Cousin Mary Janet, had a lively `Game of Life`.  Sam was the big winner.

Snacks, dinner, football brownie cake and watching the exciting game until half time when the boys had to go home to bed. The winning touchdown was very exciting. We will watch again next year when the Grey Cup will be in Ottawa.

Samuel Tries Cosmic Bowling

November 18, 2016

Today was a PD Day for Samuel. We picked him up at Core, Maman's physiotherapy workplace. As soon as he got to 9 Lambert, he and Grant played a plane war game set up  on our old computer.

Later in the morning we decided to go to Merivale Bowling for a game. It was a PD Day in Ottawa too so there were lots of kids there. It was very dark - set up for cosmic bowling. Our shoes were glow in the dark and the table surface was glow in the dark. Loud music too. We soon got into the mood. Grant had the highest score and Grandpa was happy to beat Barbara (who got a strike) with his last shot. Sam did really well, making most of his shots.

Back home we had lunch and Grant and Sam continued their computer game. Soon it was 2pm, time to deliver Sam back to Maman.

Samuel Gets Invested in Beavers

November 15, 2016

Tonight we went to Beavers in Chelsea - Sam and his friend Ross would be getting invested. Ross' Dad, Jim, is a new leader. The boys were very attentive and were proud of their new scarves and woggles.

David showed us some photos on Papa's phone of rock climbing at Home Cliff on Sunday.

Then we watched Jim being invested.

The boys received their blue tails - for 6 year olds, They wear these at the back of their hats. Then Papa showed us his photos. Lots of smiles!

Geocaching Adventure

November 12, 2016

On a cool fall Sunday, we visited the boys. Although David had not been feeling well, he came outside to play with Grant. Papa was  busy chopping wood.

Soon we were off in the van to check out three nearby geocaches.

At our first stop at "LeTunnel", Grant was quick to spot the geocache in the fence railing. Barbara wrote about our discovery in the log. Sam took a bike patrol pin and we left a small Scout pin.

Our next stop was "A vista for Eternaty. Une vue pour l'éternité" at the Baldwin cemetery - a pleasant walk. This time, after a bit of searching, Sam found the geocache just outside the cemetery fence. David chose a yellow car and we left a red Scout pin. Before we walked back to the van Sam had fun blowing milkweed seeds.

At our last geocache, "Gateway", we all explored around the park sign and a wall of large rocks. No luck finding the geocache. We will try again sometime.

We took the boys back home and had a short playtime. Very interesting that they have been reading a book called " Sam and Dave Dig a Hole".
